Booking.com and CSM Sport & Entertainment wanted to celebrate inclusivity and visibility during Sydney’s first-ever World Pride event. The challenge: create a bold, on-brand installation that not only captured attention but also encouraged authentic storytelling from the LGBTQIA+ community. The goal was to transform a physical build into an interactive, shareable experience that embodied Booking.com’s #travelproud initiative.
Polite Playground conceptualised, fabricated, and delivered a custom oversized suitcase—reimagined as a glowing #travelproud beacon at Pride Villages. Inside, an integrated LED screen featured our PLAY Platform, a fully automated video booth that allowed participants to record and instantly share their own stories. In just under two months, the suitcase went from concept to centrepiece, illuminating Crown Street with colour, connection, and community pride. The installation became more than just a photo moment: it gave festivalgoers a chance to participate, be heard, and spread their voices far beyond the event itself.

The result? A standout brand activation that blended fabrication, event technology, and inclusivity—showcasing Booking.com as a true champion of the LGBTQIA+ community.
