Just before the Easter break, our clients at Movember reached out for a unique solution to elevate player cards at the AFL’s Gather Round Maccas Footy Festival. Polite Playground promptly stepped in to make their vision a reality.
In collaboration with the AFL and Coles, Movember launched their new ‘Ahead of the Game’ (AOTG) initiative, aiming to enhance mental fitness within community football clubs. To kick start the program in South Australia, they organized an activation at the AFL's Gather Round Macca’s Footy Festival, held at Elder Park.
The highlight of the event was our Interactive Player Card Photo Studio, where participants could create personalized footy cards and share them instantly on social media.
With meticulous planning and execution, the Polite Playground team managed the Player Card concept seamlessly, printing 725 player cards and capturing 515 quality photos over two days.
Through our user-friendly technology, our custom player cards featured designs from each individual football club at Gather Round, and with the aid of our advanced software and greenscreen integration, we were able to provide event attendees with a unique experience reminiscent of Adelaide Oval.
The DSLR Studio not only entertained event attendees, but AFL Players themselves (see Josh Dunkley posing for his own card), playing a pivotal role in amplifying awareness of AOTG within the South Australian community through social media shares.
Additionally, it facilitated lead generation through our data collection forms where Movember was able to foster a relationship with their audience at Elder Park, by distributing electronic communications for occasional info on future events, fundraising tips and updates on the men's health projects.
The Movember Ahead of the Game Activation at the AFL's Gather Round Macca’s Footy Festival epitomized the successful collaboration between Movember, the AFL, and our team. By leveraging the festival's vibrant atmosphere, the addition of custom Player Cards effectively engaged and resonated with attendees, leaving a lasting impression and driving widespread awareness of AOTG's crucial mission across South Australia.
